Hydraulic coupling winch
A hydraulic coupling winch is used on pushers. They use these winches to couple the push barge(s) to the motor vessel. Usually there are several coupling winches on board the pusher and also on the barge itself. With this winch you can tension a (steel) cable to a certain holding force.

More about this project
Because of the mechanical transfer ratio, a holding force of 60 tons can be achieved. Once all winches are tensioned and the proper connection is made, then the captain can safely navigate the barges.
With our made hydraulic drive, the sailor can operate the winch from a distance (wheelhouse) by means of an electric or hand valve. Besides being safe, this is also less labor intensive compared to a manually operated winch. Where you have to turn a large wheel next to the winch to get the wire tensioned. It also allows a high holding force to be achieved with very little effort.
We designed this hydraulic torque winch according to customer specifications. Our installation consists of a hydraulic oil tank, a gear pump, an electric motor which drives the pump, manually or electrically operated valves to determine the direction of rotation of the winch, piping, hydraulic hoses and a return filter to filter the oil going back into the tank.
